MORNING STROLL (A LITTLE SOMETHING DIFFERENT)

I imagine you're a bit confused as to why there's a bearded gent strolling across my blog? Well that would be my husband Pete taking our little girl Betty for a walk and he just happens to be wearing an outfit very kindly gifted to him by menswear retailer Jacamo.

You've seen me wearing Simply Be many times by now and you probably know that Jacamo are SB's sister company providing menswear in sizes small to 5XL. Pete's actually been buying bits from them for a while now but it's mainly been basics like tees and underwear as well as an overcoat that's been his Winter staple for a few years. Despite this he'd never tried anything from their jeans collection before so decided to give their Straight Gaberdine Black Jeans (£20.00*) a go to see how they compare to his usual Levi's. For a third of the price it's unsurprising that the denim wasn't as thick, but the fit was really nice and they were soft yet structured enough to sit nicely and stay warm. For me the big test of black denim is how much they fade so we'll see after a few more washes how dark they still are, but otherwise for the price these were a good find.

To go with the jeans and making up Pete's normal 'uniform' so to speak, a nice checked shirt was required and this Tog24 Edgar Cotton Long Sleeved Shirt in Green (£30.00*) seemed ideal! The colour is gorgeous and it's really well made with nice soft but sturdy fabric, the only downside to this one was the sizing was a little off. Pete is a 44 chest and we ordered an XL which the size chart advises will fit a 45-47 inch chest but it wouldn't do up, so I'd definitely advise sizing up by one or two if you like your shirts on the baggier side. Thankfully it looks great open over a t shirt too so it's still in heavy rotation in his wardrobe!

The final piece Pete chose and the one he was most excited about was the Indigo Borg Lined Denim Jacket (£45.00*). He'd been looking out for a faux shearling lined jacket for a while but didn't want one with a big Seventies oversized collar, so when he saw this one he was thrilled. It fits really well and is lovely and warm so it's become his everyday coat for keeping him warm on the tram to work, plus its got lots of compliments when we've been out for drinks or dinner.

We were impressed with the quality of everything he chose despite the issue with the sizing of the shirt and it's definitely encouraged Pete to try more stuff from Jacamo, so maybe if you keep your eyes peeled you might see him again on the blog!
