CUPRUM

One of the greatest things about having black hair is that you can wear absolutely any colour you wish. Up until this year I've had an absolute aversion to anything in tones of brown or camel but I'm forcing myself to broaden my horizons and introduce it into my wardrobe. An easy way of testing out a new colour or pattern is to introduce it slowly, so this beautiful Tapestry Belted Mac by Elvi (£99.00*) was the perfect thing. I love the length of this piece as it adds a bit more drama and the faux leather belt and underside to the collar are another lovely touch, although I haven't been wearing the belt favouring the more casual open look. The mid brown stripes in the gorgeous textured fabric are easy to match with other brown toned pieces or looks wonderfully chic with a plain, all black ensemble. You could of course take the route I have here and throw it over something that would usually be far too much for a day time look.

I am liking the slip dress trend and how versatile these pieces are, to be worn over a long sleeved top for extra warmth, on their own as a sexy party dress or if it's a shorter style chucked over good old skinny jeans like this. This Kiera Slip Dress by Pink Clove (£18.00*) was too cute to pass up with it's gorgeous burnished copper in a truly eye catching metallic and black ace detailing. I wore it during party season and was sadly going to put it away until I thought of this combo and I'm really pleased it worked so well - I love finding new ways to wear party pieces in casual looks.

Keeps your eyes peeled for another evening to day look later this month!
