OFF DUTY

Oh my gosh guys, I have found some dream shoes. In case you were unaware I am a huge fan of classical art and in particular, religious art. It's odd as I'm not a religious person, but so many beautiful pieces of iconography have been created and there is just something about it that grabs my attention and I can't help but love, especially Mexican and Italian pieces. Taking this great love of mine into consideration it is understandable that when I spotted shoes printed with The Annunciation (a beautiful painting by Giannicola Di Paolo) I was over the moon - blending my passions for classic art and fashion? Yes please!

Very very kindly the wonderful folks at Shoes International sent me a pair of  the Dr Martens 1461 Di Paulo Shoes to review (£109.99*) and I must say they are just stunning. Taking the classic DM shoe style and amazing quality these babies effortlessly mix style and practicality and I adore how they bring a casual but undoubtedly cool feel to even dressy and formal outfits.

Up until this point my River Island Plus Khaki Pleated Lace Panel Midi Skirt (£25.00) had been a fairly fancy affair but I love how teaming it with these shoes, a lace up body (also from RI Plus) and a slouchy eternity scarf from Primark give it a whole new chilled out vibe. I'm pretty obsessed with this skirt to be honest, the fabric is perfect and hangs and holds the pleats beautifully so it moves very gracefully with your body. The khaki green is one of the most perfect Autumn colours and the cheeky lace panel gives a nice peek at your pins making it so much more than just another midi skirt!

If you're on the look out for fabulous new shoes (like I am all the time...) then I highly recommend you have a browse of Shoes International as they have so many great brands like Poetic License and Ruby Shoe is you're feeling fancy, Sketches if comfy is your thing or Mephisto if you want some gorgeous boots to add to your collection!
