COCKTAIL

If you know me you'll know that I'm a real fan of a clashing colour combo. Contrary to what you would expect I think that a well executed colour clash can look just as chic as a monochrome or coordinated palette and one of my favourite combinations is hot pink and bold bright orange. It makes me think of tropical islands, sunsets and flamingoes, tequila sunrises and fruit salad sweeties - all things that I am definitely on board with. So of course, when navabi asked me to review one of the new season pieces from Manon Baptiste this was at the top of my wishlist!

This is their Floral Lace Dress (£139.99*) and I have to say, I'm pretty obsessed. There's something about Manon that I can't help loving and that is that most of their pieces are made to order meaning you may have to wait a few days longer for them but they have an amazing varied selection of beautiful pieces which are made just for you. I also find the fit of Manon pieces incredible. I feel like their size 26 was made just for me - it fits like the most comfortable glove always having the perfect cut, length and arm size. The fabrics are always wonderful quality also and they have some beautifully chic and unusual prints and embellishments.

This particular dress is a winner for me because of it classic, simple cut and wonderful layering or colours. The lace overlay is just dreamy and not your average lace - it's thick and reinforced with embroidered detailing around the leaves and flowers and has a lovely scalloped edge to the arms and skirt. The scoop neckline is lovely and a flattering shape for pretty much everyone, and it ties at the back of the next with a bold orange ribbon - another simple detail that adds so much.

I couldn't resist teaming this beauty with my Lana Orchid Headband (£15.00) from Crown and Glory that I had bought for Style XL last year, a fairly understated black and gold clutch bag that was a Primark purchase last year, some lovely Bronze Strappy Block Heels (£36.00*) from Evans and the ultimate accessory - a gin and tonic.
