HYACINTH

I think emerald green is one of the most underrated colours there is and also one of my favourites. I'm so pleased that now my hair is dark again I can start wearing it again and it just didn't work well when I was blonde. For me this colour works best on a fabric with an interesting finish such as velvet, raw silk or like with this beautiful frock, satin.

This stunner is the Hyacinth Classic 50’s Flared Dress in Dark Green* from vintage repro brand Dolly and Dotty and I must say is one of the nicest reproduction pieces I have tried. The cut is so generous (this size 24 could easily fit a 26) and the skirt is so full and floaty, the perfect thing for a night of dancing as it moves so gracefully. I don't have a petticoat on here and I really don't think it needs one.

Another joy is how lovely the quality of the fabric is, it ironed like a dream and is so smooth and a great weight, much much better quality than many other repro companies offer. It features a side zip and comes with the matching belt which as you can see is also a generous fit. I think the normal price point of £24.99 is really wonderful for this dress but right now it on sale (in other colours too) for an incredible £12.99! Get your butt over to the website quick because it's sure to sell out quickly at that price!

I decided to go full on glam with this beauty and teamed it with all gold accessories - the Ruby Hammered Coin Necklace from Boohoo (£6.00*)Little Mistress Court Shoes (£52.00*) and Joanna Hope Chain Detail Clutch Bag (£17.50*).
