To be completely honest it's not all that often that a trend comes along that I fully love, but the palm leaf print thang is totally something I can get on board with. It makes me think of glamorous beach holidays and works oh so well with gold accessories which as we all know are my favourite! Unfortunately it also seems to take plus size brands quite a while to tag on to some trends and although there have been a few leafy pieces that I've seen they've just been your standard plus shapes like a harem trouser or a sleeveless shirt and they just haven't had the wow factor. But then I came across this Leaf Print Maxi Shirt (£32.00*) from Yours Clothing and I instantly fell in love!
I knew from the get go how I wanted to wear this, with some strappy black and gold sandals (luckily I already had these lovely New Look ones), a gold detailed belt to emphasise my waist (this is an old ASOS Curve find) and some outrageously glam sunnies. As you can see I'm wearing this piece as a dress with just a bra and some leggings underneath for comfort. It is a little bit sheer, if you look closely you can just see my bra, but this doesn't bother me at all and if it does you a little cami underneath would take care of that.
I think it would also look amazing worn like a duster jacket over say skinny cropped jeans and a little black vest. It's an oversized style but I would recommend getting your normal size to get the right fit and for the style to look right. It's made of a lightly textured polyester which means it's cool and won't crease up with a moments notice which I think is key with this kind of maxi shirt style. For £32 I think it's a bargain as it's a real statement piece and so perfect for Summer 2016 whether you'll be living it up in the UK or jetting off on holiday!
