MY DAY IN DENIM WITH SIMPLY BE

I'm sure it's not just me, but sometimes I can get a bit obsessed over an item of clothing. If I find something that fits perfectly or is a new style that I've not tried before but I think really suits me, that's all I want to wear for a good few weeks. I have to force myself not to ruin it by washing it every night for a month just so I can wear it every day. That is the case with these jeans.

I love a skinny jean because they are so very versatile and for me seem to be the comfiest and visually appealing style of jean on my body, but it can be a real mission to find a pair that you like when you're a gal with chunky thighs, a nipped in waist and fairly skinny ankles. The struggle is real people. Getting a pair that fit my butt but don't gape at my waist while skimming over my wide calves and then actually being fitted around my ankles I thought was near impossible. Even my favourite jeans up until now didn't tick all of these boxes, but then Sarah from team Simply Be got in touch to see if I'd like to take part in their new denim campaign and my jeans life was changed forever!

Sarah had clearly done her research as she picked the Taylor Ripped Knee Skinny Jeans (£30.00) for me to style up and as we all know, I'm a sucker for a ripped knee - I think it must be my punk rock teen years calling to me from the past! The Taylor is a super skinny style made of a lovely mid-weight stretch denim. They're available in either black, a lovely mid vintage blue or, if you're feeling adventurous, white and go up to a size 32 which is pretty snazzy! I wasn't sure how the fit would be so I tried my normal size and a size up, but my normal bottoms size was perfect so I'd say they're pretty bang on the money and you won't need to size up or down. I'm pleased to report that after quite a few wears and washes there has been minimal fade to the colour (I always wash at 30° btw) and the shape has stayed really well - no baggy knees in sight! The tummy area does get a little looser while you wear them but that always happens as you move about and sit and stand up, or at least it has with every jean I've ever tried!

To show what a wardrobe staple a good pair of skinny jeans is I've styled up these jeans to take them from day to night in head to toe pieces from Simply Be. There are product links to all the pieces I'm wearing under the photos of each outfit below, but if you want to head straight to the main event and grab yourself a pair of these fabulous jeans just click here!
