Well I have to say I am really not happy with the weather at the moment. It's July and it's been grey and rainy for three days straight, and to rub it in the doctor has told me I have a severe vitamin D deficiency - well how is one meant to get any sun with our rubbishy Summers? As a nice long holiday isn't on the cards until next year I've got myself some supplement pills in the hope that they'll do the trick.
Anyway, the main reason I mention the greyness is in apology as it means that my next few outfit posts are a little duller than usual due to the lack of light, but I don't think it takes away from the loveliness of this blush little number! This is the Pink Chiffon Swing Dress With Black Panels And Lace Trim (£30.00*) which is part of a lovely new collection from Yours Clothing entitled 'Sweet Romance'. I've always been a sucker for baby pink and black, it reminds me of old Chanel suits and elegant lady's dressing rooms and I think the gorgeous lace detail on this dress fits that theme wonderfully. The dress is lined with a white under layer which helps the pink chiffon be less see through and it has a nice keyhole detail to the back.
There's no stretch to this dress and so it isn't as generously sized as other Yours pieces bit it still fits nicely, my wider hips just gave it a more A line look than a swing dress look. If I lift my arms right up it's a wee bit snug on the shoulders too but as I said, I usually wear a 24 and this is a 22 which would normally be my 'Yours size' if it was a stretchy fabric so I'd recommend getting your true size in this style. It sits just above my knee on my 5'7'' frame.
This is a really pretty dress that doesn't need much styling due to the darling lace and contrast black shoulders - all you really need are some pretty heels and a bag and you're set as I think jewellery would be a bit much. Maybe some cute little pearl earrings?
Shoes are old New Look and bag is old Simply Be, leggings are my trusty Viscose Elastane Cropped Leggings (£8.00) from Yours which I have about a million pairs of as they're so soft and comfy and lovely!
