Curvissa Occasion Wear

I've often said that the reason I love fashion so much is that you can have fun with it. You can play around and mix colours, textures, patterns and even mix the trends from over the decades. This is one of those outfits that I had real fun putting together.

This is the gorgeous Grace Made in England Floral Dress from Curvissa and I just adore it's sexy yet modest styling. It features a blue and white flower print very reminiscent of lovely old china plates and while a pattern like this can sometimes look a little old fashioned if you accessorize this classic style up right you'll always have a killer outfit. I decided to find accessories in lime green, a colour that you can't fail to have spotted in pretty much every SS15 collection this year; but knew that I wanted to keep the styling elegant and so I went for a classic pointed court, a crepe blazer and a hair flower as a final little accent. I really love how this all worked and how each piece has little contemporary details - the courts having an asymmetrical shape over the toes, the jacket having exposed zip pockets and the flower having a little shot of turquoise to add depth. I thought a lime lip would be a little too much (and also très hard to find) and so I went for a beautifully bold purple.

And so more information on this gorgeous dress. As you can see it's a fitted style but not one that is too clingy, I found it to be true to size and the stretchy fabric is lovely quality - you don't lose colour in the print when it stretches as you would with cheap fabrics. It's also fully lined which always scores big points with me and I really like the three quarter sleeves and round, fairly high neckline as it adds that touch of modesty one should always employ when being a guest at a wedding. There's also a nice bit of ruching over the tummy area which I just like as a design detail but also helps flatter a larger tummy if that's something that bothers you. The length is also wonderful, sitting at my knee (FYI - I'm 5'7'' and wearing a size 24).

I'd give this beautiful dress 4 out of 5 stars, the only improvement I can think of would have been to have a more rigid lining akin to shapewear to give more of a smoothing appearance - other than that it's just perfect!
