The internet is a funny place, people sharing curated and highly edited versions of their lives. Naturally I post outfits on here that make me feel my most glamorous and although I do try to dress and look my best at all times I'm far from constantly glamorous. One place where I find it a little hard to get the balance right is at work, I work in a fairly small office in a village just outside of Loughborough and it's fairly casual, but we have a dress code as most offices do. I do think it's easier for ladies when it comes to work wear as we have a lot more options than men with their trousers and shirt uniform but sometimes this can just complicate things further! Most days I tend to stick to my tried and tested combination of a dress with a jacket or a long cardigan with tights and my beloved ankle boots as I find this comfortable and easy to throw together.
I have to admit that I once thought that Bon Marche was just for older ladies but I actually now have a few of their dresses! I've found that they're always well made, really reasonably prices, a nice just under the knee length, generously sized and designed to both flatter and be more modest, so basically perfect for work! This Brocade Swirl Side Wrap Dress is no exception, I ordered this in a size 24 and as you can see it is just a little too big for me but not so much that it looks silly. The wrap effect is really classic and the gathering at the side where the wrapover meets is really flattering to a bigger tummy. For just £28.00* I think it's a perfect staple for any wardrobe, you could easily dress it up for a more formal occasion too with some nice coloured accessories or a marvellous hat or fascinator!
So in the spirit of showing your true self, here is an outfit that I wear to work quite often just minus the 80 deniers!
Brocade Swirl Side Wrap Dress - Bon Marche - £28.00*
Black Crepe Relaxed Fit Jacket - ASOS Curve - Old
Multi Texture Ankle Boots - Simply Be - £25.00
