Blogging is something that confuses a lot of people. Some people get it, some people don't. Some people want to start blogging, some people think it's super egotistical. No matter what your feelings on the subject I know that it can be crazy hard to buy a gift for a blogger, especially a 'successful' one that seems to get sent lots of wonderful things that may usually have bought them as a gift. I thought in order to help out the confused and kindhearted people that wish to buy a blogger a gift that I would recommend some items that may come in handy to a blogger babe...

My darlings! I'm so so excited about this year's A Very Vintage Christmas fair, last year I actually worked at this fair and many others run by the gorgeous and wonderful Vintage Suitcase team but this year I will be attending as a paying customer! You have no idea how much I'm looking forward to it, it's not that I didn't like working the fairs as I did ever so much but it will be so so nice to be able to browse around at my leisure and not have to run around doing a quick sweep in between styles!

Last year's fair was just wonderful, there was so many stalls selling beautiful vintage and retro homewares, jewellery, clothes and accessories along with beautiful handmade gifts like baskets of adorable felt fruits for children to play with, teacups turned into candles and beautifully packaged baked treats. Even on my quick whizzes round I managed to pick up quite a few presents last year so I'm hoping I can get some more stocking fillers this year too - the only danger is seeing lots of things I want for myself too!

The fair is running over two days Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th of December, so next weekend! I'll be attending on the Saturday with my lovely friend Lill, it would be lovely to bump into some of you there! As well as the 70+ vintage and handmade stalls there will be a tea room, food stalls, a Santa's grotto, a vintage beauty parlour and even live music - all for a teeny £3 entry fee!

If you spot me do come and say hello, maybe we can grab a cup of tea and a piece of cake together!

For me this season is all about glitter and sparkles, not because of baubles or tinsel but because I just love walking through the city at night with the electric lights sparkling all wrapped up in a cosy coat and fur scarf. I really am a city loving girl, browsing shop windows at night and checking out the Christmas lights it more up my alley than carolling in a country village, even if that is gloriously Dickensian.

I think it shouldn't just be your surroundings that sparkle at this time of year but you too. I think it's the one season where you just can't be overdressed as sparkles, sequins, glitter and diamantes are the standard for festive parties and the New Year. It's no secret that gold is my favourite metallic, rich and gorgeous and luxurious and if you can find me something in rose gold then I will love you forever. Simply Be have won the award for fabulous gold party pieces this season and here are my favourites from the selection they have on offer...

One thing that I have learnt over the last few years as my make up and styling knowledge has grown is that having good eyebrows really makes a huge difference not only to your face but to your entire look. Sure you might have a cracking outfit on but if your brows looked unkempt and badly shaped your overall look just won't look polished and complete. Also, don't tell anyone but having good brows and clean well applied make up can mean that you you can afford to be a little lazier with your hair or outfit - if you've put the effort in to your face then the chances are that people will think that bed head is just the tousled look or that tee and jeans outfit is you going for a casual minimalist look!

The first thing you need in order to get those brows in order is a good set of tweezers. Set you say? Can't I just get one kind? Well yes, you can just get one kind and you'll still do just fine with having a set with different head shapes means you'll be able to really perfect them. One great little set that I've come across is the 'The Pluckers' Tweezer Set (£15.50*) from Bella and Bear, a brand that I've featured a few times before. The set features three style of tweezer, the straight head, the pointed head and the angled head. To be honest I don't use the flat style all that often unless I'm needing to tackle an area that's got a little out of hand say if I've not been able to pluck for a week or so as I find them easier to work quickly with. My most used set is the angled head as I find it great for grabbing the hairs under my brows and the strays over the top, then I'll go in with the pointed head tweezers for a bit of precision work, grabbing the little hairs along the bottom line of my brow in order to give them a smooth and uniform shape. The pointed set are also great for getting rid of splinters and apparently for ingrowing hairs too however I haven't had the need to try them on that particular ailment yet.

The tweezers in this set feel nice in your hand and are a lovely pale teal colour, the shape makes them comfortable to use and I adore the fact that they come in the pretty and very handy little case. It makes them really easy to travel with as you won't have them rattling around in your bad and it also prevents the heads from going blunt and not grabbing the hairs as well. The design is awfully sweet too, very kitschy cute.

If you're on the market for some new tweezers I'd definitely recommend this little set but I think they'd also make a lovely stocking filler present for Christmas - plus if you head over and buy them now you can get them for an amazing £8.50 off the normal retail price, plus there's free delivery and a money back guarantee if you don't love them too! Wonderful!

Although the quote in the title isn't from moi but Carine Roitfeld, it's true that if I don't know what to wear on a night out I grab a black lace dress. Ever stylish, ever on trend, ever sexy. Black lace is a wardrobe staple and I'm always happy to add another piece to my collection. All of my other lacey dresses are fitted numbers so I was really happy to see a skater style that didn't have a ruched waistband as I've been after one for ages and never spotted a good 'un - sometimes you just want a flared skirt so you don't have to wear shapewear pants you know girls?

This bad boy is by Evans but is from one of the kings of department stores, House of Fraser who have recently really expanded their plus size ranges and lordy do they have some gorgeous stuff in at the moment! Seriously you guys need to check it out, especially if you're in the market for a new fancy frock! But back to the dress I'm wearing here... it's lined with a lovely stretchy soft nude fabric with an overlay of black lace. Now the overlay has no stretch so you need to order your correct size here, I went for the 22-24 and it's a poifect fit. The sleeves don't have the nude lining which makes it a little cooler helping to avoid the dance floor sweats and the little peter pan collar is the perfect accent adding a touch of cute to this sexy style. One of the best parts? It's only £30 in the sale at the moment! Go go go!

One of my absolute favourite parts of my blogging adventure so far has been finding out about and attending plus size fashion events across the country. I'm lucky enough to be invited to private events every now and again but sometimes public events can be even more fun as you meet so many new people! Now I'm based right in the Midlands and so usually I have to travel quite far to get to events to say London or up into Yorkshire, but the lovely Leah has sorted this right out and started the first Midlands based plus size fashion event Style XL!

This year's Style XL was in Leicester which is really close to me and it was such fun, lovely and intimate and in the cutest venue with lots of great brands and catwalk shows. Next year Leah is taking it up to the next level with the event being held in the beautiful looking Paragon Hotel in Birmingham and spreading the event over two day's so it will be a whole weekend of chub fun! Just like this year there will be some amazing catwalk shows, market stalls where you can buy yourself lots of pretty goodies and lots lots more.

Style XL 2015 will be held at the Paragon Hotel, Birmingham on the 18th and 19th of July - you can get your early bird weekend ticket for just £15 right here but hurry, there's a limited number available!

Oh my lawdy ladies and gents, this is one GORGEOUS DRESS!!! This little baby is from a new brand available at Evans called That Day. I was actually lucky enough to meet two of the incredibly lovely That Day team a little while ago at the Evans Collective Catwalk Show so I was really excited to see the line when it was available to buy! The girls had told me that the collection was very vintage inspired so naturally I couldn't wait to see it and I was not disappointed, the designs are all beautiful and definitely echo classic designs of the past in the shapes and the patterns and colour palette used. The description of what the team set out to do on their website is just perfect and I think they really reached their goal...

THEY BELIEVED THEY COULD CREATE A BRAND THAT REIMAGINED THE
EXQUISITE STYLE AND DETAIL OF THE PAST FOR REAL WOMEN OF TODAY

The dress that I'm wearing here has immediately climbed right to the top of my favourite dress list. It's a two layer dress with an attached strappy stretchy black under dress and a top layer of a beautiful floral patterned floaty chiffon style fabric. It featured a gathered waist which to be honest I don't usually like, but it works so well on this dress. There is also a lovely wrap detail to the sleeves which is so flattering and comfortable and is a god send for bigger arms - no worrying about the sleeves being too tight here! My favourite detail however is the slash neckline, so feminine and sadly quite unusual as you just don't see it done this well very often.

I genuinely feel like this dress was made for me, it fit so utterly perfectly and the fit was so suited to my body shape - I can't rave enough about how much I love it! It's such a unique print too, I've not seen anything like it for a very long time and the peachy tones are so flattering to my and to many skin tones. If you're not a fan of prints however you can also get this dreamy frock in a solid lovely vintage yellow green colour which I also adore, but I don't think would work as well with my blonde locks.

That Day Multi Floral Print Dress - Evans Clothing - £79.00*
Cropped Leggings - ASOS Curve - £8.00
Pearl Necklace with Gold Crow's Foot - Top Shop - Gift

So what do you think sweeties? Do you love it as much as me?

Girl it is CHILLY outside!!! I really hate being cold, I hate hate hate it and so when Autumn hits my thoughts head straight to what cute boots, coats and sweaters I'm going to be buying this year! Winter stuff can be pricey pricey if you don't know where to head for some pretty and purse friendly cold weather stuff. As I'm sure most of your know Yours Clothing is one of the best places to head to if you want to get some lovely new clothes that won't break the bank and they're really hit the ball out of the park with their AW range this year. Here are some of my favourite pieces!

You can't beat a good cardigan or sweater cause they make it so easy to transition your warm weather wardrobe into chill appropriate outfits! Just add some thick tights, boots and a cute cardigan to one of your favourite dresses and there you have it!

Like I said, you can't beat a good pair of ankle boots for the winter to keep out the rain, keep your tootsies warm and they go with pretty much anything - jeans, skirts, dresses, trousers, you name it. I especially like the oxblood red booties in the middle with the gold detailing, they just have that little extra spark that turns a dull outfit into something special.

Oh giiiirls, this is something different huh? I'm wearing jeans and a sweater. This is a rare occurrence... I think there's only one other outfit post where I'm wearing jeans on this whole blog! If I've said it once I'll say it again, it's good to make yourself try something new every now and again and I like to push myself to do this at least a few times per season so when the lovely New Look team got in touch to let me know about their latest items for AW14 I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to go for something out of my comfort zone.

I just couldn't resist this cute sweater but it's very much not something I'd usually go for. I'm not that big a fan of statement tops usually because the phrases on them are kinda twee or overly saccharine, but I really love Iggy Azalea's tune Fancy and as I've been called Fancy Nancy by many a person since I was a little one I thought it only fitting that I rock this sweater. I'm digging the nautical rope frame too, it's very 1990's Versace. The sweater itself is oversized in style but I went for a size bigger than I normally would as I knew it was longer and I needed to accommodate my butt and hips in there and I think that worked to my advantage as it just exaggerated the oversized look up top. It's made of a cream 100% cotton sweater fabric which is relatively thin but that means it hangs nicer than it would if it were made of a thick school jumper style fabric - it also means it's nice and easy to wash which is a bonus for me as I am guaranteed to get makeup on or spill something down myself when I'm wearing a light colour.

As I said earlier jeans are not my best friend and I very rarely wear them so surely it goes to show that for me to feature jeans they have to be good ones, and these very much are. They're billed as 'supersoft' and they don't fall short on that point. They're lovely and stretchy and the fabric isn't too thick so they move with your body more easily than a normal non stretch denim would. They also have ripped knees which is bang on trend but also makes me feel like I'm in Waynes World - not totally a bad thing I suppose. Schaaaaaaaawing. I went for my normal size in these jeans which was the right way to go, they're skinny style so naturally they're meant to be nice and fitted and they're one of the few pairs I've found that actually are fitted around my ankles. A lot of the time when I've tried skinny jeans the ankles have still been really baggy which has defeated the object of the exercise really... These babies also feature a nice high waist which means they stay up over my very pear shaped body. Having big hips with a much smaller waist can be both a blessing and a curse as usually when something fits my thighs it's fat too big on my waist - not with these lovely jeans they fit just perfectly. And they're only £24.99 - perfect!

Cream I'm So Fancy Sweater - New Look Inspire - £14.99*
Navy Ripped Knee Super Soft Skinny Jeans - New Look Inspire - £24.99*

Don't forget to check out these two look books that the New Look Inspire team have put together which feature some gorgeous blogger babes - Grey Scale and Sequins: Day and Night.
