Nautical Nancy

Guys I am so excited today it's untrue. Last night Pete and I booked our wedding trip to America next year and I am so darn excited! We're getting married out there and then touring around a few places as our honeymoon, one of the best parts being that we're going to Universal Studios so we get to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!! But I digress from this lovely dress, how silly of me...

If you're interested in fashion at all - and I'm sure you are if you're reading this blog - you'll know that bright blue is a big thing for AW14. It's a wonderful colour not only for me with my pale skin and blonde hair but for pretty much anyone (unless you've gone for a tango orange tan... ahem). This gorgeous Jersey Knee Length Dress from Scarlett and Jo takes that bang on trend shade of cobalt and transforms it into a delicate, flattering and unusual dress that features lots of lovely details. First off, and most important I think, are these gorgeously floaty cape like sleeves. They are SO pretty and they echo the shape of the full skirt perfectly, a detail I've not seen on a dress that isn't chiffon for a long time. Speaking of fabric, this is another example of the wonderful heavyweight jersey that Scarlett and Jo are famous for which hands beautifully off your curves. The wrap over top with the tie forming a sort of key hole detail over the chest is another design feature that I adore, as is the gathering of the fabric over the bust which is highlighted with the bold black piping. It's just a dream of a dress and so so comfy!

Now I always feels with this shade of blue that I simply must wear it with red and this time I took this into a bit of a nautical theme. I picked out some lovely red striped low heels that I got for £10 in the Office sale last year, matched them with red lips and a kitsch-tastic brooch and then took the sailor theme further with this Lux De Ville handbag which is embossed with anchors.

I think this is a super cute outfit, how about you?
