I don't know about you but I just love baking birthday cakes for my friends! Unfortunately a lot of my buddies have moved away over the last year which has made it real tricky to get a baked treat to them in time for the big day. I was always too worried to try posting one of my cakes in case it got smooshed or my friend wasn't there to accept the delivery, but now I've found the perfect solution - letterbox cakes from Bakerdays!
Not only can you now order a gorgeous little cake that will fit right through your recipients letterbox to arrive safe and sound but you can also personalise your cake with custom text or even a photograph! There are loads of great templates to suit birthdays or pretty much any occasion you can think of or you can send in an image of your own to be printed onto your sweet treat. I decided to get a little letterbox cake done for my lovely boyfriend to celebrate his starting a degree with the OU and so sent the Bakerdays team a San Francisco Giants logo as that's his favourite sports team. It was just the round logo that I sent and the cake designers added the stripey orange background which looks just amazing! They even made me a cake with no jam to suit Pete's jam-a-phobia!
The cake came wonderfully packaged with a gift card and a little bag with candles, balloons and a party blower - perfect if you've ordered it to surprise a work colleague or family member! The cake itself was packaged in a cute tin that fit it perfectly stopping it from getting squashed or damaged in the post. For £14.99 you get a really great fresh beautiful cake and the extras in the packaging make it extra special!
The cake was just great, lovely soft madeira sponge with creamy buttercream icing. The fondant printed icing was great too which really surprised me as I'm usually not a fan and peel it off, but this was just the right thickness and not cloyingly sweet. There are several other cake flavours available to choose from too including gluten free and dairy free options and if you'd rather order a full size cake Bakerdays have still got you covered with three other cake sizes available. You can even order personalized cupcakes!
The lovely team at Bakerdays have offered two lucky readers a free personalised letterbox cake of their own! If you'd like to win one just enter using the Rafflecopter below - the two winners will be chosen in a week's time!
