DOLCE AND VERDE CAFE, ROTHLEY

I'm really not sure where on my list of stuff I love stumbling across an amazing new cafe is but I can tell you it's pretty high up. Recently my lovely friend Lois and I were out searching for food on our lunch break and spotted Dolce and Verde in the lovely village of Rothley. We headed in for a bite and both fell in love with the delightful little cafe cladded in subway tiles, wooden decking and a handsome faux deer head.

We sat down on a little table for two and were looked after by a lovely friendly chap who brought me a wonderful cappuccino - y'all know I'm fuzzy about my coffee and this really was a good one. We had a quick peruse of the menu and placed our order - gorgeous Lois when for the Avo & Goat Toast (£4.75) - two lovely slices of toasted bread topped with smashed avocado and goats cheese and a lovely pile of rocket and cherry tomatoes with a light dressing. I went for the Dolce Club Sandwich (£5.95) - juicy slices of chicken breast and crispy bacon, layered with swiss cheese, tomato, salad leaves, mustard mayo and I think a little slather of chutney between lightly toasted bread. All of the lunch dishes are served with a little bowl of thick cut crisps and some fresh coleslaw.

Both lunches were really gorgeous. I'm not actually a fan of club sandwiches usually as I find them a bit dry especially with the toast but I saw one go by to another table and had to try one for myself. I'm so happy I did because it was legit one of the best sandwiches I've ever had and wasn't at all dry. All the ingredients were cooked to perfection and super fresh and the mustard and chutney quota was bang on. All the flavours were balanced and it really was a treat, when we ran out of time and had to get back to work they even have us foil lined bags so we could take our sammies with us.

I can't wait to take my husband back to try a club too, I know he's just going to love it. I need to get me back for the brunch deal too - anything from the menu plus a coffee and a glass of prosecco for just £10.95. Sounds like a bargain to me!
