Maxi Dress - ASOS Curve

Wide Fit Sandals - New Look
Do you ever find a print that you love and adore but is in a style that you just aren't sure about. A frustrating thing that I find with some brands that cater for both standard and plus sizes is that they will get a gorgeous print such a this and then produce two completely different designs with it for the two size ranges, usually with the plus size version being a little less fantastic. I'm still not sure how much I like this design in all honesty - it has long billowy sleeves with elasticated bottoms that just don't really suit me and I'm not sure how fond I am of the double slits at the front, but the fabric is just so fab that I don't think I can let it go! I think I'm going to take it to my seamstress and have the sleeves and neckline altered into a style that suits me better. It's all thanks to gorgeous Dani that I found this dress - in her post where she wore it backwards to turn it into a v-neck style the clever thing!
To keep me warm and cover up those pesky sleeves I've teamed this dress with a gorgeous quilted cropped jacket that I got at Curve Fashion Fest last year. For some reason I've only worn it a few times but I love the style and it fits like a dream. The gold zip and rivet details are so luxe and eye catching and it's such a clever and unusual design - a classic style with a twist, so a perfect Nancy piece! To echo the gold in the jacket I wore my new sandals from New Look that feature a wonderfully shiny gold block heel. In all honesty it wasn't quite sandals weather that day but I couldn't resist wearing them - good job it was only down the road to my local pub for a tasty lunch!
Have you ever found a print that you love but on a style that's not so hot?
