Hello darlings, happy Monday to you all, I do hope everyone has a good week. Today I'm introducing a wonderful brand that I haven't featured before, the fabulous Silly Old Sea Dog! SOSD are a lovely little company designing and hand making deliciously fun dresses, skirts and accessories here in the UK, all with a great retro vibe to the shapes and using cute and kitschy printed fabrics. I was introduced to them earlier this year at the Paris Plus Size Fashion week when the stunning Hayley Hasselhoff modelled their stunning licorice allsorts dress on the catwalk! It was a much publicised photo and deservedly so as not only did it feature an incredibly beautiful plus size model but also a wonderfully fun, flattering and unique dress for the plus size market which proved that fat does not mean dark, tent like tunics, it can be cute and frisky too!
Now very excitingly the lovely SOSD team contacted me a few weeks ago to tell me all about their stunning Christmas collection which is now on sale! There are some lovely dresses and skirts in the collection, the size range changes from style to style but the three dresses I have shown photos of today go up to a size 28 which I think it just wonderful. Now you will notice that when you choose the larger sizes the price goes up a little which is something of a hot topic among us big ladies - usually if it was a big company this would bother me a good bit but SOSD are a small company making handmade items out of premium fabrics, so it will cost them more to make the larger sizes and in these situations I'm happy to pay more for the extra materials and time it will take to make a garment for me in a bigger size. I'm also happy to do this because I love being able to support little independent companies. This isn't something you get to do all that often when looking for plus size pieces so I'm so pleased that we have SOSD to offer us these special pieces in larger sizes!
