My busty revelation with Curvy Kate!

Hello my lovelies! I hope you've had a fabulous weekend, I spent mine in Leeds at Plus North and had a fabulous time - I met and caught up with lots of gorgeous ladies, did a little shopping, modelled for Yours Clothing on the catwalk, ate some tasty foods and enjoyed some gorgeous cocktails in a little speakeasy bar. One of the highlights of my weekend however was having my bra size measured  by the absolutely lovely Curvy Kate girls!

I've always admired Curvy Kate lingerie from afar, never thinking I could fit into it as I had too small a bust. I was over at their stand chatting to the ladies and buying some knickers and I mentioned that I was disappointed that I couldn't fit into any of the bras too - the lady I was speaking to looked at me a bit funny and asked what size I thought I was to which I replied oh I'm a B or C cup. She gave a little smile and asked me if I'd like to try one of their bras, but she didn't tell me what size! Why not I thought, what's to lose and so she had a feel of my back and gave my current bra a squeeze to find out how much padding was in there - spoiler alert, it was A LOT! Off we went behind some screens and she helped me to discreetly slip off my current bra and into one of their beauties. I held my breath and was expecting much bagginess in the cups... but ta dah it fit! She did up the back and adjusted the straps - it felt a lot more fitted than any of my current bras but not uncomfortably so and she explained that it should be like this in order to keep you in place and fully supported. Off I went to look in the mirror and I was just astounded, my small boobs finally looked in proportion and were lifted and much fuller looking despite being in a completely non-padded bra! I have NEVER worn a non-padded bra!!! My posture also both looked and felt better and I wasn't getting the bulges under my armpits that my old bras would always give me.

And then it was time for the big reveal. The bra I was wearing before my fitting was an ASDA 'two sizes up' heavily padded bra in a 38C, however I had extended the back size by adding two bra extenders. This made the back fit more comfortable but moved the straps further apart on my back and so they were constantly needing to be pulled up. The last bra I bought that I thought would be my actual size without needing extenders was a 48B. Well it turns out I'm actually a... 40E!!!! What a difference! I was literally flabbergasted. I had no idea my bust was as big as an E cup and amazingly surprised that I was only a 40 back size! Naturally I decided to keep on the bra I tried on (what was the point in putting my old incorrectly sizes one back on?) and also picked out another bra from their lovely selection!

This is the lovely bra I initially tried on, the beautiful 'Portia' in Black (£28). I am so in love with the pink ribbon detailing and the little lacy edge, it made me feel so feminine and glamorous and I just can't describe how wonderful I felt wearing what I felt was a proper bra without any extenders or lots of padding to make my bust look bigger. I just didn't need it with this baby on!

The second bra I chose was equally as adorable as the first but in a really fun, bright colour - the 'Dreamcatcher' in Frost/Boysenberry (£29) below. Isn't it cute?! I adore turquoise and pink together and the polka dot like embroidery is just darling.

I genuinely feel like I've had a bit of a life changing experience after getting measured by the Curvy Kate girls and I can't thank them (and my lovely friend Elena who has been telling me to do this for AGES) enough for getting me to go for it and get measured. If you haven't been measured for a long time or even at all I really really recommend that you do so as soon as possible, you may well have a big shock like me and realise that you've been wearing completely the wrong size!
