Marisota SS14 Style Challenge

Happy Monday everyone, I hope you're not feeling too disheartened that it's the start of a new work week. I'm kicking off the week by sharing the two outfits I put together as part of the Marisota SS14 Style Challenge. The lovely people at Marisota sent me this gorgeous panelled lace print blouse by Truly Wow and asked me to style it into an outfit. I actually used it in two different outfits, one a look for the office and the other a look for the weekend.

For my office look I teamed it with another Marisota purchase from last year, this lovely bright blue pencil skirt with black contrast trim and for the weekend look I wore it with my new stripey ASOS Curve midi skirt. I really love how this blouse can be worn as a formal look for work or as a smart casual option with a more relaxed style skirt or jeans.

The blouse itself is made of a gorgeous silky soft polyester printed with a lovely lace look pattern and accented with black panels to the sides and contrasting collar and cuffs. The print is really nice and it's such a great versatile piece, the monochrome look making it really easy to wear as it can be teamed with pretty much any colour.

The black illusion panels at either side really are magical in the way that they make you appear slimmer and define your shape better, they really make the pattern pop too! Here's a better look at the pretty lace print, I love how it's more of an abstract drawn lace effect rather than a perfect reproduction of some lace.

As you can see from the picture below this is actually a long line blouse with a dipped back and looks gorgeous worn over jeans. Unfortunately I find jeans the most uncomfortable thing ever so this wouldn't be a look for me even though I think it's a great smart casual look - a nice waist belt would look swell with it too and add even  more definition to your waist.

Another nice touch is the placket hiding the buttons which not only makes the blouse front more streamlined but helps with the dreaded 'button bulge' that can occur if you have a larger bosom!

You can buy this lovely blouse right here priced at £35, a great price for such a lovely and well designed piece.

Have a great week everyone!
