I mentioned in this outfit post how much I adore black and white stripes. Well I realised I had built up a good collection of pretty stripey photos and thought I'd share them with you all! These images have been collected over the last year or so so unfortunately I can't say where they are all from - if you know please tell me so I can credit the owners!

Lil Bub - just because she's the cutest.

Hi kittens! Because I'm feeling upbeat today I decided I'd like to offer free space every month on my side bar for fellow bloggers and shop owners to advertise! I'll be offering five spaces per month so get in quick to snag a spot!

If you'd like to bag a place just send over your chosen button / image to be placed in the side bar along with a little description of what/who you are and the link to your site to n.whittington@gmail.com.

Please note that I will have a look at your website to make sure I feel it is appropriate for me to link to.

Happy weekend guys!!!

This is an image heavy post guys so sorry if it takes a while to load!

Last Sunday as we all know was Fathers Day and in celebration the Charnwood Cruisers Custom Car Club held a car show in the market place! I popped down with my camera to snap some photos and was blown away by the amazing array of automobiles and by how many people were there! I don't think the cattlemarket is that busy on market days!

The club was founded in 1975 and you can find more info about them here including an events calendar and list of current member's cars.

As I took so many photos I'm doing this post in two parts, the second will follow in the next few days!

So here's another little collection of pretty things I've found on my vintage fair and charity shop wanderings over the last few weeks!

I found the print above at Jackdaw Bygones a fairly new little shop on Churchgate in Loughborough. It says it was printed in Italy and looks to me like an advertising piece from a fashion house. Hopefully I'll come across a nice frame for it soon!

I called this my 'Fern Gully' jug as soon as I got it. It's a dainty little thing perfect for serving cream with pudding and the leaf texture is just darling. The photo doesn't do the colour justice either it's such a beautiful shade of green, and for £1.99 I was pleased as punch.

I was lucky enough to have last Friday off work so headed to the weekly vintage market in the middle of town and picked up a few lovely pieces. This pretty pink glass cake stand caught my eye immediately with its lovely star design and metal footing - I got it for £4.

I also got a set of three 1920's platters grading down in size. I'm addicted to watching Poirot at the moment and that coupled with re-reading Gatsby has brought back my Art Deco passion in a big way! I'm starting to be drawn to green more and more at the moment too and it was such a popular colour in the movement. I paid £5 for the three and can't wait to use them next time we have guests over for dinner!

This was my last find at the market - a framed print of one of my favourite paintings 'Ophelia' by Sir John Everett Millais for £5. I adore the pre-raphaelites and hung her straight in the hallway. I'd love to visit the Tate to see the original sometime soon.

I managed to have a quick run around the other stalls at A Summer of Vintage fair in Matlock that I worked with my beauty parlour last Saturday and picked up some lovely 1960's glasses - they're just perfect for a gin and tonic!

Both sets were from Boomerang Vintage who are opening a shop in Hednesford on the 6th of July! Hopefully I'll get to visit soon and grab some more lovely homewares!

This last Saturday found me in gorgeous Matlock in the Derbyshire Dales at a fantastic vintage fair called A Summer of Vintage run by the fabulous Vintage Suitcase team. I was doing vintage hair with my pop-up parlour along side Sassy who was doing make-up. It was a really really fun day, I only had a brief 15 minute break from styling all day when I had a rushed look around everyone's stalls but then got called back to do another 'do!

Everyone's stalls were so fabulous and there was a really high standard of products both vintage and hand-made - some real treasures were to be found. I grabbed a few bits my self that I'll post soon but in the mean time have a look at some of my gorgeous clients from the day.

I'll be at the next Summer of Vintage fair too! Head to the stunning Buxton Dome (SK17 6RY) on Sunday 28th July for lots of vintage and hand-made goodies, a tea rooms serving delicious cakes and treats and Sassy and I heading up another beauty parlour!

We went out for a lovely dinner with some friends last night and I decided to wear my lovely bright flower skater dress from Simply Be. I bought it last year to wear to my works Christmas party and ended up wearing it on Christmas day too.

It's made of a really thick lovely quality satiny fabric that holds it pleats perfectly so the skirt always lays as intended and doesn't crease up when you sit down. It has a really cute cut out bit at the back too which is perfect for showing off your back tattoo!

You can see my pale pink hair in these photos really well as I died it again the night before. I really love the shade of pink that the new Feria dye gives, I just wish it lasted a little longer. I was rushing about in the morning to get into town and then go to my Grandparents house in Rugby so just did a quick heat curled wave in my hair rather than something more complex!

Dress - Simply Be
No longer available but this dress is the exact same cut and in a lovely sequin print fabric!
Boots - Evans
Necklace - Lady Luck Rules OK

I just went with my normal black eyeliner in the day but decided to add some frosted white and dark blue shadows and glitter for the evening. I really love these Collection 2000 glitter liners for adding some sparkle to my normal eyeliner - Hustle and Funk are my favourites so far. They're only £2.99 each and work so much better than far more expensive ones I have bought before. I also wore my favourite MAC lipstick in Plum Dandy.

Have you tried any new looks recently?
