Vintage Finds - Guildhall Antique Fair 07-4-13

Wasn't this last weekend lovely? It was so nice to finally have some sunshine and slightly warmer weather! I actually went out twice with just a cardigan on and no jacket! Luckily enough to make my Sunday perfect I had an antique fair to go to at the Palmer-Tomkinson Centre in Birstall. It is run by the fabulous Guildhall Antique and Vintage Fairs and is always a great mix of stalls and has something for every collector. Next time I'm going to try and get some more photos of all the different stalls but it was so busy this time I didn't want to interrupt any potential sales!

I've spotted some really unusual pieces at these fairs in the past that I've never seen anywhere else including mourning jewellery, Twenties picnic baskets with original plates, cutlers and containers and even an electro shock therapy machine! I wish had had enough money for the beautiful brooch above, the chap that ran the stall was lovely and so knowledgable about all his brooches, it was really a fantastic collection!

As usual I got some lovely little bits and bobs to dot around the house and here they are...

This gold Royal Wilton teacup trio caught my eye immediately shining away amongst the lady's other treasures. I have lots of teacups with gilt detailing but none that are all gold so I snapped this up straight away to add to the collection.

I thought this little white enamel and pastel coloured gem stone necklace would be fabulous for Spring with a pretty tea dress and a cardy!

These gold striped martini glasses match perfectly with some aperitif glasses I bought last year, it was meant to be!

One lady had a lovely collection of old movie star clippings for sale. I got the two above to frame up for the wall, the first is Simone Simon who I had not heard of before but has such a beautiful haunting gaze and I couldn't pass up the second as it features my lovely Lucy!!!

The necklace and earring set below was seriously calling my name too but I was a good girl and stuck to my budget for the day.

It really is a great little fair and I strongly advsie anyone who lives locally to have a look around! There's a little tea room too so you can have a nice relaxing day of shopping and then treat yourself to a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake!
