In all honesty I've never really set myself a list of life goals, but I'm pretty sure that if I had 'bring on a magazine cover' should have been one! Well thanks to the ever so lovely more magazine team this dream has come true as you can see above!

Not only did I have the honour of gracing the cover of the magazine but the truly wonderful Gemma Collins (no not that Chelsea one...) wrote an article about me, my passions, my blog and why I do what I do! It really is a truly wonderful piece, so positive and lovely I really couldn't have hoped for anything more. There's always a niggle in my mind when I speak to journalists that they may twist my words or put a negative spin on what I do but Gemma didn't do this at all, she took everything I told her and told it as it is. I really am so grateful to her for asking me to do this and I'm so so proud, it would really mean a lot to me if you would read the article for yourself as I think it says so much about me, my attitude to life and my little part in the plus size community.

Along with speaking to lovely Gemma I had the pleasure of having Beth Walsh come to my house to take photos for the article. Beth was so lovely and oh my gosh, I really think her photos are some of the best pro pics I've ever had done. I really hope I can work with Beth again in the future and I'd highly recommend her to anyone who's looking for a wonderful photographer in the East Midlands area. You can find Beth on Twitter here or to see more of her wonderful photos head here to her Flickr page!

The internet is a funny place, people sharing curated and highly edited versions of their lives. Naturally I post outfits on here that make me feel my most glamorous and although I do try to dress and look my best at all times I'm far from constantly glamorous. One place where I find it a little hard to get the balance right is at work, I work in a fairly small office in a village just outside of Loughborough and it's fairly casual, but we have a dress code as most offices do. I do think it's easier for ladies when it comes to work wear as we have a lot more options than men with their trousers and shirt uniform but sometimes this can just complicate things further! Most days I tend to stick to my tried and tested combination of a dress with a jacket or a long cardigan with tights and my beloved ankle boots as I find this comfortable and easy to throw together.

I have to admit that I once thought that Bon Marche was just for older ladies but I actually now have a few of their dresses! I've found that they're always well made, really reasonably prices, a nice just under the knee length, generously sized and designed to both flatter and be more modest, so basically perfect for work! This Brocade Swirl Side Wrap Dress is no exception, I ordered this in a size 24 and as you can see it is just a little too big for me but not so much that it looks silly. The wrap effect is really classic and the gathering at the side where the wrapover meets is really flattering to a bigger tummy. For just £28.00* I think it's a perfect staple for any wardrobe, you could easily dress it up for a more formal occasion too with some nice coloured accessories or a marvellous hat or fascinator!

So in the spirit of showing your true self, here is an outfit that I wear to work quite often just minus the 80 deniers!

This year is going so incredibly fast so far and I'm sure it's just sped up because of my wedding in May. It seemed like there was ages to go but the weeks are flying by and now there's less than ten weeks before the big day! Most of the wedding plans are now set so the thing currently at the forefront of my mind is what clothes to take with me as we will be in a few different climates when we're over in the US. I'm notorious for over packing but this time I seriously need to plan well and only take what I'll actually need.

What I'm most concerned about is the high heat in Florida and Las Vegas, I don't cope too well with this and so I need to dress smartly making sure I'm comfortable but also feel cute. This dress from New Look is just perfect for this - it's a maxi so I can wear comfort shorts underneath, it has a sexy and hot weather friendly bardot neckline so my shoulders and arms can stay cool, it's black so I can wear it with any colour accessories I want and best of all, it's super cute but classic all at the same time!

There's just something about a casual white dress, they always seem so chic when teamed with black accessories. This stretchy little number from ASOS Curve is a real delight and features one of my favourite prints, seriously I just can't get enough of sketchy/painterly designs right now! Don't you think the long sleeves are great too? It's so rare that you see them on a dress like this but it instantly makes it British Springtime appropriate keeping that chill off your arms! The belt I'm wearing is another ASOS Curve piece and I adore it's unusual design with the varying widths, knotted effect and gold detailing and I know I'll wear it an awful lot. It's the perfect little detail to add a contemporary tough to any outfit.

Well my lovelies, today I'd like to share with you something really fun that I did on Tuesday night thanks to the ever so lovely Annie of The Tales of Annie Bean - I headed to my first blogger party at the absolutely incredible new Peter Pizzeria in Leicester! Now I've been to quite a few events with bloggers now but never to a networking party organised by another blogger. I have to admit I was kind of nervous at the prospect of meeting lots of local bloggers of all different genres but it was such a lovely experience I can't tell you! I've been longing for some more local blogger buddies for quite some time now so it was really wonderful to meet so many great people with similar interests and everyone was so delightful and easy to talk to. I would really like to thank Annie for organising it, she did a magnificent job and she's such a cuteypie I can't wait to meet up for tea and cake with her soon!

As for Peter Pizzeria, well I've already said that it's incredible but I think you just need to visit yourself to see how great it is. I pretty much knew that I'd love it as I go to the original Loughborough restaurant (which is conveniently a five minute walk away) pretty regularly and have never had a bad meal but I hadn't expected the awesomeness of the building and the decor. The team have really knocked it out of the park and have created a restaurant space like no other with a main dining room that has movies projected on to the wall, a cosy and bright breakfast room full of chesterfields for the perfect brunch, two fabulous private dining rooms for parties and events, the most interesting toilets I've ever seen (!!!) and even a games room complete with ping pong, foosball tables and an amazing Marvel comics wall piece by a local graffiti artist.

Of course the pizzas themselves are just great with sourdough bases and fresh interesting topping combinations all baked in hand crafted wood fired ovens - my favourite has ricotta, salami, pistachios and truffle oil... NOM! We started with giant antipasti boards which not only looked amazing but were super tasty and I was really pleased that I finally got to try their infamous Nutella pizza which was gorgeous - hot dough topped with Nutella, crushed hazelnuts and powdered sugar, what's not to like?!

As you can tell I had a wonderful time with Annie, some of the Peter team and all the other lovely bloggers. Next time you're in Leicester you simply must head to Peter Pizzeria and let me know what you think!

Top £8.00* & Maxi Skirt £10.00* both from George at Asda

I saw an article recently about the glorious Tess Holliday which was titled 'There Is NOTHING Sexier Than Confidence' and boy do I agree! It got me thinking about how I've felt about my body in the past and how much that has changed over the last year or so, about how other people see me now compared to in my late teens/early twenties and about the pieces of clothing that I love now but would never have dreamed to wear before I realised that life is too short to worry about your dress size. Since I started fashion blogging my confidenced has grown no end and I think that really shows in how I hold myself now. I feel my best when my hair and make up is on point and I'm wearing a great outfit and this naturally makes me feel more confident which shows in my posture, my gate, my expression. There's nothing big headed about it, it just means that I'm extra happy that day and people can sense that when they're around you.

This outfit kind of embraces all the body fears I had when I was younger - I'd never get my arms out, I'd never wear long skirts in case I looked dumpy and the thought of showing some tummy would have turned me into a ball of panic. You know what I was then? I was sad. I hated myself. How is it possibly ok to hate yourself and for such a silly reason as what size you are?!

You are so much more than your clothes size, you are a unique and wonderful person - there's nobody like you. The path to true happiness starts with learning to love yourself and I really hope if you're not on that path already that you get on there real soon. You deserve a happy life surrounded by loving and supportive people. Your size doesn't make you less deserving of anything.

Believe me, learning to love my body and be confident in who I am has made me feel more content and happy than losing weight ever did.

If I've said it once I'll say it again - the devil is in the details. I don't feel like an outfit is complete without lovely accessories and personally I feel like jewellery is the icing on the cake. It's safe to say that my jewellery tastes have changed dramatically over the years along with my sense of style and I feel like my choices now are more... mature shall we say. Sure I still wear the off kitschy novelty piece and I'm a big fan of laser cut acrylic stuff a la Black Heart Creatives but I mainly wear more simple pieces now. As with clothing I've also started spending a little more on investment pieces that I know I'll wear over and over again rather than buying a load of not great quality bits for a few quid each from Primani - not that that's a bad thing, I still love a cheap super on trend piece.

Knowing my new found love for simple classy designs you can imagine how excited I was when London Jewellers NUDE got in touch to let me know about the gorgeous handmade pieces that they make in their Mayfair studio. NUDE specialise in contemporary jewellery and boy do they have some gorgeous items to suit pretty much any taste. The piece I'm wearing here is the Double Link Silver Pendant (£85.00*) from the Vanilla Links collection created by designer jeweller Nikki Galloway. I just love the look of the hammered silver and the chic simplicity of the design, so wearable yet unusual and eye catching and it just exudes quality with its delicate snake chain and satiny finish.

As well as the wonderful quality and craftsmanship of the jewellery I just love how NUDE jewellery is packaged, wrapped in tissue paper and kept safe and protected in a pillow box it's then swaddled up in a gorgeous slinky bag tied up with a bow and a stamped tin tag. Seriously, NUDE pieces would make the perfect gift.

So what's your jewellery style? Classic? Contemporary? Kitschy?

Happy Friday you lovely lot! Are you as excited about the weekend as me? I'm having lunch with some lovely ladies tomorrow and it's Mumsy's Day on Sunday so I think it should be a lovely one!

I couldn't help thinking when I put this outfit together that it was a bit Courtney Love with the floral print, wide shoulders and messy blonde hair - I should have worn Doc Martens really to complete the look but sadly I don't have any anymore! Despite the 90's grunge girl tendencies I actually think this would work as office wear too with a jacket and more sensible heels.

The dress itself is made of a nice thick textured fabric with a lovely monochrome floral print offset with neon yellow, although sadly the light at the time of day we took this photo doesn't show that too well. I love the detail of the pockets to the front and the v neck adds a nice feminine touch to this style - the wide shoulders could easily have mae it too boxy and masculine a shape but the neckine softens it well. As I'm fairly tall (about 5'7'' ish) this was fairly short on me, a length that I'd wear leggings with rather than tights, but I think this is an advantage as black tights would have been too much with the predominantly black dress.

Now you'll have to be quick with this one ladies as it's gone down to just £8 on sale, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't sell out before this post goes live!

One thing that I really love about George is the wonderful prints they always have on offer - I realised when I was writing this that I actually have quite a few pieces from George that all have wonderful patterns and colours, unusual pieces that I always get complimented on. I think it's great that a supermarket's fashion brand that has a really accessible price point offers pieces like this as it would be easy for them to just have the same old prints and designs as everyone else, but George really seem to put the work in to have a unique and exciting offer. A prime example is their new season floral collection that this dress is a part of.

This skater dress is from George's plus size range and is available in sizes 18-32. It really is gorgeous, the print is eye catching and unusual and I adore the stretchy textured fabric. I wore it to work earlier this week and got so many compliments and questions as to where I got it. It's true that I'm a sucker for blue as I love how it goes with my hair and skin tone but on another level I really like the use of this colour in a more edgy floral rather than the usual twee white and blue china plate print that has been seen quite a lot over the last year or so (although I like that too to be honest!). Like I said previously I've worn this to work with a smart blazer and knee high boots but my first instinct was to wear it in a more casual look like I have here with my trusty biker jacket, comfy leggings and ankle boots - the perfect outfit for a lazy Sunday wander round town and a few drinks at the local I think!

Again the price of this piece I think is a steal and everything other than the handbag in this outfit is from a high street store so isn't a luxury item. The handbag is a Paul's Boutique jobby and was about £80 so doesn't exactly fit the budget friendly theme, but I couldn't resist using it to bring the blue theme further!
