Little Things, Big Feelings

Five weeks. Five weeks until I get married. My stress levels are topping out right now, planning our American adventure and juggling that around work, play, blog stuff and exciting things like my hen do next weekend. I'm not complaining and I know I'm so lucky that this is all happening to me, but I can't lie I'm feeling a little overwhelmed right now. When I start to feel like this I stop and close my eyes and take a few deep breaths, and then I find something that makes me happy and hold it in my hands letting the memory wash over me. Then I magically feel better and can get on with whatever I was doing and my head feels much clearer! I think it's important to remember the small things that make you happy, and here are a few things that make me happy right now!

I love this picture of Pete so much, I took it the first time he came to Rugby with me to visit my grandparents. It was a sunny bright day and we spent it sat in the garden eating birthday cake and drinking champagne to celebrate my Gramps' birthday.

I bought this little lobster bottle opener last year on our holiday to Spetses, I like to look at it and remember the fun we had on that little island, it was like paradise and I so wish I could go back!

These little earrings are from Evans, I bought them a few weeks ago and I think they're really cute, so that makes me happy!

I got some new business cards made and I'm so pleased with them, I love the gold and black marble effect - those seem to be my colours right now - and the design is a lot more simple and eye catching than my last ones. It took me quite a while to get the design right in Photoshop so I'm really pleased that they worked in real life too!

Most Saturdays I take a walk into my little town and wander through the shops and the market. Although we don't have the greatest selection of stores here we're really lucky to have a market twice a week that sells fruit and veg, meat and fish, flowers and plants, clothes, art supplies and we even have an awesome stall that sells picture frames for super cheap. This last weekend I bought a gorgeous bunch of anemones in reds, purples and blues for just £1.50 and they make me smile every time I look at them.

Last but not least is this amazing necklace from Sugar and Vice. I love gin, I love glitter and I love jewellery so all in all I think this baby was made for me.

I'd love to hear what little things make you happy if you'd like to share them with me?
