So this is probably going to be the most glowing review I ever give anything, because I just don't know what I'd do if Clean On Me by Soap & Glory didn't exist. It is my absolute favourite shower gel of all time, period. I love it even more than expensive designer brands that I have tried like Dior and Guerlain. I love it even more than the ridiculously sweet sugarplum scented stuff that I bought in bulk from Avon last year because the smell made me so happy. Why do I love it so much you ask? Well here we go...
1 - It lathers up just beautifully.
I get irrationally irritated when I buy a new body wash only for it to wash straight away without bubbling as soon as you put it to your skin. There's no fun in that, and it shows that the manufacturers really didn't put the effort in when developing it.
2 - It smells dreamy and leaves a light fresh fragrance on your skin all day.
It is maked as having the 'Original Pink' S&G scent which doesn't really mean anything unless you're been buying their products from the start, but to me it smells a little fruity, a little creamy, a little bit floral and a little bit marshmallowy i.e. all my favourite things put together.
3 - It leaves your skin feeling super soft and moisturised.
A lot of shower gels leave me with tight feeling skin, and I have even experienced some scary burning and stinging sensations from some that leave me with a light rash - this makes for a not happy Nancy. Clean On Me leaves you feeling smooth and pampered, my skin is never softer than after a shower with this stuff.
4 - It's gentle but has cleaning power.
I use this stuff to remove my make-up, including waterproof mascara. I really hate most make-up removers as I can't stand the feel of anything oily on my hands or around my eyes, and Clean On Me is gentle enough for me to use to wash my face without stinging my eyes or my sensitive skin. It also gives my skin a shot of moisture - as I have oily problem skin I use quite a few skincare products which can cause dryness so this is a great help. This isn't its intended use so be careful if you decide to give this a go - it doesn't sting my eyes but it may do yours as everyone is different, so be careful.
5 - It can be used in place of a shaving foam.
Because you get such a rich lather this works great in place of a foam or gel when shaving. I think I get a closer shave when using this stuff too as you don't have such a thick layer of product over your skin so the blade can get closer. I sometimes got red blotches and itching when I used to shave with a foam, but as Clean On Me is really moisturising I don't get that at all anymore!
6 - A bottle last aaages.
Some of you may think that £6 for shower gel is a bit much, but it comes in a big 500ml pump bottle and seriously lasts for ages. I use mine every time I shower and find it lasts a good three months. Tip - it's on 3 for 2 at Boots at the moment!
